The Obama Administration's position on Jerusalem took center stage this week when a State Department spokeswoman refused during a press briefing to accept that the city, even the non-contested and Jewish dominated western half, is the capital of Israel.

Early in the week, the Washington Free Beacon political blog discovered that a State Department communication posted online had identified "Jerusalem" and "Israel" as separate Middle East entities. Following that revelation, the State Department quickly altered the communique to list only cities and not countries.

At Wednesday's weekly press briefing, a reporter asked State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland to comment on the issue, to which she replied, "Our policy with regard to Jerusalem is that it has to be solved through negotiations. We are not going to prejudge the outcome of those negotiations, including the final status of Jerusalem. ...That's all I have to say...”

Israeli forces this week are gearing up for the annual "Land Day" marches by Arabs inside Israel and outside its borders. The event, scheduled for this Friday, promises to be a more severe challenge this year after regional powers like Iran, Hizballah, the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas became actively involved in planning the march.

Thousands of people from the Middle East and other parts of Asia have reportedly arrived in Syria and will begin their trek to the Israeli border in the coming days. Similar marches are planned from Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon, and from within the Palestinian Authority-controlled territories.

The Land Day marches are a protest of Israel's sovereignty over lands the Arabs claim as their own. This year, the international effort is focusing on Jerusalem amid claims that Israel is increasingly trying to "Judaize" the city. Most Arabs deny the Jews' historical and religious connections to Jerusalem.

"Our aim is to end the Zionist policies of apartheid, ethnic cleansing and Judaization, which all harm the people, land and sanctity of Jerusalem," read a statement on the official Global March to Jerusalem website. "The GMJ is comprised of a diverse coalition of Palestinian, Arab and international activists who are united in the struggle to liberate the holy city of Jerusalem (the city of peace) from illegal Zionist occupation."

"... in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!  "...all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. But you must continue in the things which you have learned..." 2 Timothy 3:1-14

European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton once again found herself the focus of much acrimony in Jerusalem this week after she seemed to equate the murder of four people at a Jewish school in southern France with the casualties of war in Gaza.

The differences between these two examples of violence is obvious. Or, it should be. But it's not, not to everyone, not to people like Catherine Ashton who, just one day after the Toulouse shooting, told Palestinian Arab children visiting Brussels the following:

"When we think about what happened today in Toulouse, we remember what happened in Norway last year, we know what is happening in Syria, and we see what is happening in Gaza and other places - we remember young people and children who lose their lives."

"Hear this now, O foolish people, without understanding, Who have eyes and see not, and who have ears and hear not: Do you not fear Me?’ says the Lord. ‘Will you not tremble at My presence?" Jeremiah 5:21-22

"...the whole world is under the sway of the evil one." 1 John 5:19

An unidentified gunman opened fire at a Jewish school in Toulouse, France on Monday killing four people, three of them children, and prompting renewed calls from Israeli lawmakers for the Jews of France to move to Israel en masse.

The victims of the attack at the Ozar Hatorah school were later identifed as Yonathan Sandler, a teacher from Jerusalem; Sandlers two children, 6-year-old Aryeh and 3-year-old Gavriel; and the 8-year-old daughter of the school's principal. Several more people were wounded in the attack.

"The oracle concerning Egypt. Behold, the LORD is riding on a swift cloud and is about to come to Egypt; The idols of Egypt will tremble at His presence, And the heart of the Egyptians will melt within them. So I will incite Egyptians against Egyptians; And they will each fight against his brother and each against his neighbor, city against city and kingdom against kingdom. Then the spirit of the Egyptians will be demoralized within them; And I will confound their strategy..." Isaiah 19

Dozens of Israelis were wounded this week as 222 rockets struck across the northern Negev and parts of the coastal plain, and nearly one million civilians were forced to spend most of their time in bomb shelters.

Twenty-six Palestinians were killed in the air strikes, nearly all of them terrorists. Yet, the Islamists that now dominate Egypt's parliament did not care about the identities of the dead Palestinians, nor that Israel's military leaders had expressed regret over having to fight among civilian populations. The Egyptian parliament viewed Israel's strikes on Gaza as nothing short of war crimes and on Monday voted unanimously to expel Israel's ambassador from Cairo.

"Egypt will never be the friend, partner or ally of the Zionist entity which we consider as the first enemy of Egypt and the Arab nation,"

Sadly, too many American', Christians included are soft and lazy. Comfort, luxury and ease is where it's at. Christians, illiterate of The Word, covetous, and proud, choose to swallow and follow rather than be as the Bereans and....

How would Americans face the hardships the citizens of Israel face on a daily basis? How would we cope with living in bomb shelters for days on end, with our children, household pets...?  I have been inside the bomb shelters in Israel - they are small with minimal comforts, no windows and no wc.

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places... Ephesians 6:10-14

"...the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service. And these things they will do to you because they have not known the Father nor Me." John 16:2-3

As the American government calls for intervention in yet another Middle East country [Syria] we read:

Iron Dome intercepts 25 rockets aimed at city centers; 8 injured, including 1 critically from rocket shrapnel on Friday night in rural region; Safety instructions in place for residents living within 40 km of Gaza.

Palestinian terrorists in Gaza targeted cities, towns, and farming regions in southern Israel with waves of rockets throughout Friday and Saturday, setting off air raid sirens and injuring eight people.

Ninety two rockets - Qassams and the longer-range Grads - were fired by midday Saturday at civilian regions. Of those, the Iron Dome anti-rocket system intercepted 25 projectiles heading directly into city centers in Ashdod, Be'ersheba and Ashkelon. Sixty seven rockets exploded in Israeli territory, most of them in open fields.

The IDF Home Front Command instructed all civilians living within 40 kilometers of the Gaza Strip to behave cautiously and ensure that they were never far from a designated safe room and away from windows.

After a short break Saturday morning from shooting more than 80 missiles against a dozen southern Israeli towns and villages Friday night and early Saturday, March 9-10, the Palestinian Jihad Islami resumed firing on Beersheba and the Eshkol region. They also released a video clip showing them firing Grad multiple rocket launchers mounted on vehicles on Israeli civilian targets.

Fifty Libyan Muslim Brotherhood mercenaries arrived in the Gaza Strip from Tripoli last month at the wheels of minivans on which were mounted the new Grad multiple rocket-launchers last seen on the Libyan battlefield in use against Muammar Qaddafi's army.

'When, as a Jew, you stand on the edge of death, life is a revelation. It is not our deaths under the Egyptian sun, the blades and bullets of a thousand empires and kingdoms, or the ovens of Dachau that we are obsessed with. It is that moment of survival. The revelation that even amid the horrors of all that we have witnessed and the terrible things that we had to do to survive, we have risen out of the ground, watched the flesh cover our bones and stood alive again upon the earth. Every time we survive, we are reminded of the fragility of the world and of our enemies who wielding every power and trick, have failed to destroy us. Each time we rise, we transcend the world, in confronting our dead, we confront our immortality.'

As the celebration of Purim begins, let us remember that in this current age of our modern "sons of Haman" ~ the various Ayatollah's, Imams, Presidents, and Prime Ministers who seek to persecute, and destroy the people of God, ie Israel and the church throughout the world, that;

The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken. Psalm 9:15

... He ordaineth his arrows against the persecutors. Behold, he travaileth with iniquity, and hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood. He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made. His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own pate. Psalm 7:13-15

As America's pro-Israel advocates gather again, the call for peace with the Palestinians has succumbed to fever-pitched talk of military action against Iran. Tehran insists its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes.

The US and Israeli leaders' differences on Iran are significantly narrower, but no less tense. Israel believes the time to strike is before Iran has a nuclear weapon. The US position is to wait until it is certain Iran has one, and allow more time for sanctions to succeed in pressuring Iran back into negotiations.

But G-d' Word says:

"... in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power.
