"Kerry, not Israel, is the "Poof" moment

In May 2013, analysts said that Secretary of State John Kerry had a "messiah complex" about being "the one" to finally broker a peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. Newsmax reported in May 2013, for example, that "Kerry's plan remains opaque, even to officials in the [sic] Administration." He didn't need a plan. He saw himself as the only one who could wrestle peace from the jaws of hatred. Now, the peace messiah is primarily blaming Israel for why Kerry's messianic pixie dust didn't settle the peace. He told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee that Israel announced building new houses and didn't release Palestinian prisoners on time, and "Poof, that was sort of the moment."

Pretty strong nuance for the nation's chief foreign policy diplomat. One that was quite offensive to Israel. An official in the Israeli's Prime Minister's office told the NY Times that Kerry's remarks "will both hurt the negotiations and harden the Palestinian positions." He said, "Secretary Kerry knows that it was the Palestinians who said 'no' to continued direct talks with Israel in November; who said 'no' to his proposed framework for final status talks; who said 'no' to even discussing recognition of Israel as the nation-state of the Jewish people; who said 'no' to a meeting with Kerry himself; and who said 'no' to an extension of the talks." Israel's official statement said it was "deeply disappointed" by Kerry's remarks.

Of course the pro-Islamic bullies in the occupant of the Oval Office's administration were not going to let that stand. Kerry's spokeswoman Jen Psaki called on the Israeli media to put Kerry's comments in proper context. Psaki told reporters on Wednesday at the State Department, "He was frankly surprised by the coverage of his comments. He doesn't believe... that one side deserves blame over another. What he did yesterday was simply restate the chronology of events of last week which took place." Later, Kerry and Foreign MInister Avigdor Liberman met at the State Department where Liberman told Kerry that "everyone in Israel knows that you are a true friend." But the damage is done.

From the beginning this "president" has disrespected Israel's Prime Minister and Israel's position. Putting Kerry in charge of the peace process is in step with that disrespect. In September Israel's Defense Minister said that Kerry operates "upon an unfathomable obsession and a messianic feeling" and "The only thing that can 'save' us is that John Kerry will get a Nobel Peace Prize and leave us alone." And "Poof" that sums up Kerry and his credibility. We know that the only one who will ever bring peace to Israel is the true Messiah, Jesus Christ. Until then, Jeremiah 6:14 is in play: "They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace."
