OBAMA WANTS ISRAEL TO SPEND AID MONEY ENTIRELY ON USA-MADE WEAPONS: Negotiations meant to enshrine USA defense aid for Israel over the next decade have snagged on disputes about the size, scope and fine print of a new multibillion-dollar package, officials say. Israel is seeking up to $10 billion more than the current 10-year package, partly by asking for guaranteed funding for missile defense projects hitherto funded on an ad hoc basis by the American Congress, the officials said. USA President Obama wants to ensure the funds, thus far spent partly on Israeli arms, are eventually spent entirely on USA-made weapons. Shraga Brosh, the head of the Manufacturer's Association of Israel, urged PM Netanyahu on 4 May 2016, to reject the defense aid package deal proposed by Obama, saying it would kill Israeli jobs and be a "mortal blow" to its defense industry and mean the loss of thousands of jobs in Israel in favor of the Americans," Brosh said.
