'But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.

They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over weak-willed women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth.' 2 Timothy 3

A new book by Ann Voskamp called “One Thousand Gifts: A Dare to Live Fully Right Where You Are” has gained extreme popularity among many Christian women today. Questions arise regarding the author’s use of very explicit metaphor in which she describes union with God in carnal terms, specifically as sexual intercourse.

I will NOT soil this blog by quoting from this book but I encourage each of you, to avoid this book and advise others to do the same.

Although the sexual relationship in marriage is a holy thing before God and should never be viewed as in any way dirty - Hebrews 13:4 - the Bible never describes the Christian’s union with God in sexual terms – NEVER.

My advice: when you hear or see this concept being taught, run for your life!
